How to produce biodegradable packaging bags? 

Does it have some special process compared to producing normal plastic bags?

No, it is not a special process, it is just like the plastic manufacturing process, which is produced by blowing a film of particles. The difference is only the raw material.

and it is full name is Polybutylene terephthalate adipate. 

PBAT is a semi-crystalline substance with a crystallinity of 30%,

which is produced by the copolymerization of aliphatic and aromatic substances.

The aliphatic substances are degradable and the aromatic substances have good mechanical properties,

so the degradable materials have the tensile properties of plastic films and degradability.

Biodegeradable raw material

It is also granulated, like plastic raw material. 

PBAT is a kind of substance that is modified into lipid by using adipic acid (AA),

terephthalic acid (PTA) and butylene glycol (BDO) as monomers and synthesizing polyadipic acid/butylene glycol terephthalate in a certain ratio,

and PBAT and vegetable starch, such as corn starch or tapioca starch,

are added with additives in a certain ratio,

and degraded material granules are synthesized through high-temperature and high-pressure processing.

Usually, the granules are creamy white or slightly yellow.

The size is close to that of plastic granules.

Degradable material is as environmentally friendly and reliable to the environment as a towel made of cotton. It just looks somewhat plastic-like,

and that’s because it only has the properties of plastic when made into a similar state and then replaces plastic products.

We know that plastic products are actually very useful and greatly facilitate people’s lives, the only flaw is that plastic can not be decomposed, which also pollutes the environment.

With degradable raw materials, the production process behind them actually the same as plastic.

The first step: blowing film, also is the degradation of material particles in the plastic blowing machine blown into a tube of film. Note that to make ordinary plastic bags, the film is usually out of the tube. The film is wound up as two layers of material.

The second step: If the bags need to print a logo, this step is printing. usually plastic use Gravure printing and flexo printing, and now have digital printing for small quantity.

Third step: folding into sides gusset if making something like t-shirt carrier bags, or extra film cutting for self-adhesive bags, 

fourth step: go into the bags-making process, the film will make into t-shirt bags, self-adhesive bags,

zip lock bags, dog poop bags, garbage bags and so on.

usually, self-adhesive bags and zip lock bags are cut and seal bags by heat sealing in the width direction, t-shirt bags,

dog poop bags, and garbage bags in the height direction, those bags usually have a 2 mm seal first, then next step is cut into a bag.

After that, the subsequent process is the packaging of these bags and warehousing.
